Pembrokes of Walnut Creek
At Pembrokes of Walnut Creek, we hand raise our pups on our family farm outside of Elmer, Missouri striving to produce high quality, healthy, genetically sound pups with pleasing personalities. Our adult breeding dogs are current on all vaccinations and health screenings. Live videos of the pups are available, and references are available. All dogs are genetically tested!
My Story
Hi, I'm Janice Sampson. I'm the breeder behind Pembrokes of Walnut Creek located in Elmer, MO. We are a small hobby/show breeder of purebred AKC Registered Pembroke Welsh Corgis.
I grew up on a farm, I remember always being surrounded by animals. We had pigs, chickens, cats, dogs, sheep, horses… Basically every kind of animal you could think of having on a farm.
When I was very little, I remember praying and asking God to always be surrounded by animals, especially cats and dogs for the rest of my life. Well, prayers are always answered, I know because mine were! My prayers were heard and answered, and my dreams came true. On a daily basis I get to feel the love and joy of having my dogs and puppies around all the time.

Our Adult Corgis
All of my dams and sires are on-site and available for you to view through photos and videos. They have the sweetest disposition but yet, they are corgis! Corgis run to the beat of their own drum. They are spunky, kind, loving, and when they are pups go through a phase I call, Tasmanian Devils. But we couldn't live without them!
All of my adults are genetically tested prior to mating. My dams have to be in top condition before their allowed to conceive and have to be at least 2 years old. My males are allowed to mate at 18 months old and have to be in top condition before they mate.
Our Corgi Puppies
Our purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppies are gorgeous! They are can be Tri-Color (red headed or black headed) Sable or Red and White and meet AKC standards. They are outgoing, curious, intuitive, and emotional. They are also delightfully stubborn, and sometimes judging you but are guaranteed always entertaining. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are BORN ENTERTAINERS! They are very easy to train, and live to please you. Our puppies bond with their new families quickly because they are home-raised. They will have a greater special bond with your family that’s unlike buying a puppy from an average breeder or puppy store.
We do bi-weekly deworming, and their vaccination boosters start at 6 weeks and are on 3 week vaccination schedule (6 weeks, 9 weeks, 12 weeks, 15 weeks, etc.) We will give you the vaccination schedule, health records and genetic testing on dam and sire as well as the pups when necessary. We also AKC Reunite Microchip our puppies before they go home. They have their tails docked and dew claws removed within four days after birth. Pembroke Welsh Corgis have many personality traits. The Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a strong, athletic, and lively little herder who is affectionate and companionable without being needy. They are one the world's most popular herding breeds. The females are 26 - 28 lbs at full grown and the males are about 28 - 32 lbs at full grown. Pembrokes have big personalities in a small package. They think they are big dogs in a small dogs body. They are independent and fearless, and make great watchdogs. If you're thinking of buying a Pembroke Welsh Corgi puppy, just be prepared for a super smart dog with the need to run. Ethical breeders take a lot of time making sure that their dogs are the healthiest dogs producing the healthiest puppies. Ethical breeders spend so much time socializing, caring for, and observing their puppies, they will be able to recommend the puppy that is most likely to fit best into your life.
AKC is the considered the Premier canine club, and they are far stricter than the CKC, and have more stringent rules, guidelines and testing.
Pembrokes of Walnut Creek adheres to all the requirements and testing to be considered an AKC Registered breeder. We can be knowledgeable mentors after you take your puppy home and will always be ready to take back or re-home any dog we produced. In other words, we care deeply about all of our puppies and dogs.
